Greetings

As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to send a friendly reminder: your insurance benefits, including your deductible, will reset soon—most on January 1st!

If you’ve met your deductible this year, now is the perfect time to schedule a physical therapy session or check-up.

This way, you can take full advantage of your remaining benefits and address any aches, pains, or concerns before the reset.

Here’s why it’s worth booking now:

  • Maximize Your Savings: Your sessions may cost significantly less (or close to nothing) if your deductible is already met.
  • Start 2025 Strong: Let’s tackle those aches and pains now so you can step into the new year feeling your best.

Appointments fill up quickly during this time of year, so we recommend booking soon! Simply click [here] or call us at 347.561.8002 to grab your spot.

Don’t leave your benefits unused—your health deserves it.

See you soon,

The Lion Team

MOVE WELL

Treating Contusions

If you take a blow to your body or hit yourself against an object, you’ll likely notice a bruise, also known as a contusion, shortly afterward. A contusion goes through a healing process that involves changing colors. Physical Therapy can help during all stages of healing, helping to ensure a quick and uncomplicated recovery.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

When heading to a Physical Therapy appointment, make sure that you dress with comfort and mobility in mind.

Loose-fitting clothes such as tank tops, t-shirts, and shorts or jogging pants allow your Physical Therapist to access your injured area to assess and treat your injury properly. If you have an upper-body injury, such as a neck or shoulder injury, sleeveless shirts are best. If you have a knee or ankle injury, shorts or loose jogging pants are ideal.

Comfortable, supportive, and non-slip shoes are essential for Physical Therapy as they help to keep you stable and safe. Lastly, long hair should be tied up, and jewelry should be removed before your treatment session. The goal of dressing appropriately for Physical Therapy is so that your Physical Therapist can provide you with the best treatment while keeping you comfortable.
